I was looking for something noticeable enough to deter potential thieves, and this product does just that. Its purpose is clear without needing any explanation, which provides a sense of security. The quality of the build enhances that feeling, making it a reliable layer of protection.
After a nearby break-in, I realized how vulnerable my car was. This purchase was driven by common sense rather than excitement. It installs quickly without any tech requirements, which I appreciate. Once in place, it’s out of mind. Its presence on the wheel brings instant reassurance, quietly doing its job.
Living in an area where thefts occur has changed my perspective on security. I needed something that worked instantly without electronics, and this fits perfectly. It's obvious, tangible, and hard to overlook. It has become a staple in my parking routine: lock it, fit it, and walk away.
The company markets itself as Australian and displays prices in dollars, creating the illusion they are in Australian currency. However, they are actually in US dollars, inflating costs by at least 50%. This crucial detail is hidden in small print near the total amount, easily overlooked.
My sentiment is basically the same as other reviews here, the primary issue being they masquerade as an Australian company based in Sydney sucking you into assuming their prices would obviously be in AUD. They expect you to dig through their T&C's to work out their prices are in USD, I emailed them to complain and they told me it's due to them selling worldwide, poor excuse when they only have 3 products it would be simple to mention that on the product page. The only reason I gave more than one star was the products actually arrived (most likely drop shipped from overseas).Upon noticing there was zero Antiapex branding I searched for the brand on the box and discovered the trackers I'd been duped into paying $28ea for can be purchased from Aliexpress for about $10ea.Antiapex would appear to be nothing but a popup shop designed to exploit honest Aussies into purchasing overpriced products drop shipped from overseas, AVOID!
American based dropshipping-scammers who are upselling cheap foreign-made products to unwitting Aussies in fear of a fake “crime wave.”Prices are not in AUD, they are unmarked in USD and are not based in Australia like claimed.Support unwillingly to genuinely support.
Claim to be Australian company. The website gives accounts of Australians having their car stolen and how it could be avoided with their lock. From all accounts, it appears to be Australian. So when I saw the 50% off, I bought 2 locks. There is no mention of the price being in US$. I only found out when I saw the amount charged to my credit card.I’ve reported the company to ACCC for deceptive and deliberately misleading practices. After receiving a patronising explanation about the company’s practice of billing in US$, I responded requesting a full refund. They did a “full” refund but it fell short of what I was charged due to currency conversion rates.I believe that all businesses selling online in Australia should be required to show prices in AUD by default, unless clearly showing any other pricing currency beside each item listed for sale. Failure to do so should result in massive fines and automatic refunds to duped consumers
There’s something about the story behind the brand that feels genuine. Two mates who went through something similar and decided to actually build a solution. That energy comes through in the product. It doesn’t feel rushed or overdesigned. It feels thought through.
I liked that this was designed with everyday cars in mind. Ours isn’t flashy or new but it still matters to us. The lock fits well and stores easily when not in use. It doesn’t get in the way at all. Everything about it feels considered. Practical without unnecessary extras.
