I purchased a pair of jeans, along with some other items from Hugo Boss store in Braintree, UK before Christmas 2021, paying cash for the goods.This store is not local to me so I have to plan my visits. At the beginning of May 2022 I noticed a split in the fabric in the seat of the jeans. I returned to the store on 3rd June and met with resistance immediately from the staff who stated that I was outside of the 6 month guarantee period. When it was clear that I was still within the 6 month guarantee period I was told bluntly that nothing could be exchanged without "proof of purchase". I do not keep cash receipts for months on end (who does) but the store was insistent that I direct the matter to the Customer Services team via email. I met with the same stubborn insistence that a "proof of purchase" was necessary and was asked to provide the date of my visit, the exact amount of my transaction and photographs of the care label so that they could make enquiries. The failed to find my transaction, I wonder if they ever searched and then bluntly refused to assist stating "Customer Service Policy". The inflexibility of the staff from the very beginning of this issue, the rigid stance taken by "Customer Services" and the sub standard quality of the item means that I will not be purchasing any items of Hugo Boss clothing at any time in the future. I recommend that nobody uses this brand at all. Poor quality from start to finish!
