I purchased a refundable ticket for the Chicago marathon in case disaster would strike and I would not be able to attend the event and delay my dream of finishing the Big 7. Unfortunately I got Covid a few days prior to the run and was unable to travel from my home country to attend. I followed all official national guidelines and protocol to obtain the medical evidence needed. When this evidence was reviewed by the refundable.me team it was found to be insufficient and I was asked for more evidence or changes to the evidence I had provided. Despite pointing out to the team that medical professionals have protocols and guidelines that are based on scientific best knowledge, and that these protocols can be different between countries, my request was refused. The team rather condescendingly pointed our to me that I had signed the terms of service. I tried to explain that even tough I had signed the terms of service the health authorities of my country did not - So it seems the team from refundable.me chose to hold tight to a legal technicality that suits them instead of evaluating the case based on what is fair and reasonable. I am very unsatisfied with their service and absolutely do not recommend their service.
