I made the mistake of updating the Tracfone aopp, and now it doesn't recognize my login. Phone agent could not help. Online agent likewise. I've wasted 2 hours and can't see my banked data, which is important to me. Saddest thing is this all happened last year out of the blue (no app update involved). Tracfone agents read scripts, and ignore direct question. They also refuse to kick the case up to the next level.

I think it's funny that the first thing they say on this review field is "What went wrong this time". I have been a customer for more than 7 years and they say all unused minutes, I don't text or use data. I use it for a phone when I am away from my landline. The last time I checked in October I had over 17,000 rollover minutes. I broke my screen on my old phone in November 2025 and bought a new one that came with 1500 minutes with purchase. They shut off my phone in late December and it took me almost 2 hours with their so-called customer service and they finally admitted they had no reason to cut it off. Next, on 2/16/2026 they shut it off again. I spent another almost 2 hours with so-called customer service and they told me I had no minutes left and my new purchase in November is good until November 2026. They finally turned it back on and put the 1500 minutes I had with my purchase back on my account. They told me someone in management would call me in 24-48 hours. Still waiting. Worst company I have ever dealt with. STAY AWAY, BUYER BE WARE.

Buy another phone and service with anyone but tracfone , Years ago they had a good name , Not anymore

Why should I complain. I do not own their stock and I don't work for TracFone Wireless. They piggyback on Verizon wireless where I live. I was with AT&T since it's conception, before Cingular back to the baby bells AKA BellSouth. I paid a few thousand for a DynaTAC back in '84. I just got sick and tired of paying over $200 for 2 lines. Now I pay $11 with discount with autopay monthly billing. I gave them 4 stars, because AT&T is the gold standard with signal strength where I live. I've used TracFone for about 2 years. The worst I tried was Mint. We actually parked 50' from a tower and couldn't make a call. Obviously, I had 5 bars with my TracFone. I bought the Samsung NIB off eBay for under $50. I sold my Apple for $600 on eBay. I don't use my cell for anything besides calls and texts. I have no desire to stare at a 6.8" screen for internet use. No WiFi, no laptop or desktop. Everywhere I go I see everyone staring at their smartphone or talking through their Bluetooth earpiece. Since I've had a cell for over 40 years, it's novelty has worn off. I had a trunked phone 10 years before '84. You got it, I'm old! Thanks TracFone Wireless for great service for 11 bucks!

Disappointing purchase experience

I bought a Moto G Power 2025 intending to use it with my account, but I had to buy a $15 plan that isn't compatible. I tried to cancel my order immediately, but it wasn't possible; the delivery person left the phone outside in the snow. When I called to get a return shipping label, I was informed that it wasn't available. Ultimately, I had to pay $15.84 to return the phone.

Unreasonable requirements for activation

It's frustrating when companies demand you have two phones to activate one. It's also unacceptable for prepaid services to require your address. When laws are passed to force you to buy a product, it feels like a scam.

I cancelled my service but was still billed the following month. I had to dispute the charge and get a new card. Avoid this situation!

Double charged on Auto Refill

I was charged twice on my Auto Refill and only received a partial refund for the second charge. During my third call to resolve this, I was told the remainder was for taxes. Then they charged me the full amount again. Now my bank is trying to sort it out. What a hassle!
