Purchased a whirlpool compactor took two months to receive owned it for four months already had to replace the entire front panel as the plastic parts all broke and you couldn’t push the buttons in. It’s to be replaced tomorrow but today I noticed the button to push in to compact is peeling so I suspect this compactor will not last a year. We have owned four compactors prior to this, and they were all made very well. This thing is the biggest piece of junk I have ever seen do not purchase.
Had a order for our Whirlpool Refrigerator water filter and it was never shipped. It showed it as still in the Fulfillment mode. Granted the order over 3 years old, but we needed a new filter it is showed in my history and never being fulfilled. It was billed to my Debit card. I called and talked to a CR Rep at whirlpool and she was nice, but was of NO help. I offered to send her a screenshot of the filter status, but that wasn't good enough for whirlpool. So, I'm just out $45.00 it seems. She really didn't seem to care one way or the other. Thanks Whirlpool!
Bought a dishwasher 11/2/22. The motor died Sept. 2023. Got that replaced under warranty. Last friday, 6/14/24, the new motor died(not even 8 months since it was installed). They want to charge me now for a service person to come check it. What the @%#*!!! It's not even 2 years old yet and has blown 2 motors. Worst piece of junk I have ever bought.
I have a Whirlpool washing machine that stopped working. I had a AAA Service Network, a local repair company come out and service the machine. Once he arrived, he diagnosed the machine having a bad solenoid and likely motor. He also recognized that it was newer and likely under manufacture warranty still. He was correct. The AAA service man left us an invoice which detailed his findings and likely issues. I called Whirlpool and they sent out Michigan Appliance Repairs for warranty work. We gave the new repair man AAA service's findings. He played around with it and the machine started working while he was there. He said the intermittent working and not working was likely more than the solenoid/motor and was probably the motherboard, but since it was working while he was there. He then left, fixing nothing, and charged us $89 for warranty work.
We bought this(WRS321SDHZ) to replace our 20+ Y.O. GE. I should have shopped MORE. Like many other owners of this fridge, we found the freezer to be way too small for many regular sized items. Storage in the fridge side is unusual as well. The shelves are not adjustable in any way. Not good. The ice maker makes a LOT of noise.Really took some getting used to. Now...the water dispenser. Poorly designed/placed spout drips down the front of the freezer door. I, like many others, put a thin piece of sponge/towel at the edge to try and catch them. The first fridge that was delivered had a depression that kept the fridge door from sealing, causing it to run 23 hours a day, and rain from the ceiling inside. It took four months to get another.(I did ask to buy another brand/fridge knowing it was getting replaced. No go.) These days refrigerators are not the solid boxes with well aligned doors like the good old days. Instead they are twistable soft metal, and not easily leveled.
Called to report that my oven range vent overheated and melted a part of my control panel. Since I’m not in warranty they won’t cover replacing the oven or panel and want to charge me for a service fee. This is dangerous and you shouldn’t need a warranty to stay safe from oven parts melting.
4 month old dishwasher, quit working. Service repair came twice with wrong parts, had to order another part, that on backorder for 2 weeks, now been 2 weeks and still no part. Asked for new product, should not go bad after 4 months and should be able to request another one, was told no .
My new glass cooktop range by Kitchenaid, made by Whirlpool, has squeaked since it was installed. A repairman came out but couldn't figure out where the squeak originated. The WPL repair 888-900-3381 said it isn't covered by the warranty. ok, but it is a defect and they should fix it or replace the range. They won't do a thing to fix "their" product.
If I could leave a minus 5 stars I would. I bought a whirlpool steam dryer for my new home in Florida. After using it for 3 months, it stopped working. The repair person had to replace the circuit board. As it still did not work, the motor was replaced. In the mean time I was without a dryer for 6 weeks. One would think my dryer would now be working fine as most parts have been replaced….. but 3.5 months after the first breakdown my dryer is on the fritz again. And because it’s within the one year warranty only whirlpool will handle repairs and not the big box store I bought the extended warranty from. So I can either put up with break downs or buy a new dryer for my own sanity. I have never talked to ruder customer service folks. Overall this has been a traumatizing experience.
