The firm can chart its history back to the late 1920's when its founding member Howard J Cole began working at Poole solicitors firm J W Miller & Sons as a Legal Clerk. Years later he officially launched H F J Cole in 1954, providing a full legal service for the people of Poole. The firm grew and by 1972 there were three partners; Howard, his brother Arthur and Roger Senior. By this time, the firm had been re-named HFJ & AW Cole. As the years progressed and the firm flourished more and more solicitors were brought on board. The year 1989 witnessed the merger with Poole-based firm Millers and thus Coles Miller, as it is known today, was formed.
