I purchased the gentle gels base coat, top coat and one shade of red yesterday and received my order this morning. Not only was the delivery time so quick (not even 24 hours) but also, not to be dramatic, but the nail gel has changed my life. As a child I had severe anxiety and would bite my nails which unfortunately never recovered and would grow out properly and I’ve had short nails. I used to get my nails professionally done but found it was expensive and would damage my nails, so I purchased the gel kit from 14 day manicure and loved doing my nails at home! I visited my sister and she did my nails using a kit from a different brand. At first this was no problem but the next day it turns out I’d had a reaction to it and unfortunately this permanently damaged my nails and I could never use gel again, even if I had them professionally done. This was devastating for me and all I could think was for my biggest life events I wouldn’t be able to have my nails properly done (nail varnish chipped too easily and my nails are quite short). I attempted to get my nails done for my sister’s wedding, as I thought if I went to a professional I might not have a reaction. I was wrong and ended up having another allergic reaction and having painful and inflamed nails/ hands for the wedding. (Not to go into too much detail but it was an extreme reaction and they looked horrific). Yesterday I bought the gentle gels range, just one colour as I was afraid of buying loads and still having an allergic reaction. Initially, I was very nervous to try it as the reaction that I do get is so painful. I am so so happy with the results and it really has changed everything for me. I loved having my nails done, and it really improved my confidence. I know it sounds silly but I was devastated when I’d formed that reaction which was then permanent. (Just to clarify the allergy was not a result of using 14 day manicure it was from using a gel from another brand and the ingredients it contained as it permanently damaged my nails, this also happened to many other people, I couldn’t use any gel including the 14 day manicure or professional). I’m beyond excited to start buying more colours. I’m graduating university soon and I’m delighted I can now have my nails done for it and all future events that I can have in my life. I wasn’t even aware that HEMA was the reason for the allergy until I saw it on the page and researched it. I know it may seem small but the products really do make a difference and an impact on people’s lives, and I can’t thank them enough for this. I already had the 14 day manicure kit before forming the allergy. They have put in the research and it really is paying off and helping so many people feel good and look good. I know it sounds dramatic but it really did change my life. I can’t wait to try all the other colours!
