I nearly fell victim to a scam but caught it just in time. I chatted with a representative on their website, who engaged quickly after I browsed for a bit, which I appreciated. FIRST RED FLAG: I noticed some content on their site was still in Latin, suggesting unfinished design elements. I dismissed it as a minor oversight. After an hour-long conversation, I requested an email with the details we discussed. SECOND RED FLAG: The email didn’t arrive initially, not even in junk. After some effort, they finally sent it, but it went to junk. I thought nothing of it; email issues happen. The email looked fine, so I replied with a smaller project. THIRD RED FLAG: They addressed me by my last name in the email — a typical cultural quirk. I was too distracted to think much of it. FOURTH AND FINAL RED FLAG: They sent an invoice for the full amount upfront, not just a deposit. The payment link was unfamiliar, and upon checking, it was flagged. I nearly lost $2,000. I’m usually savvy about scams, but these tactics are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Exercise caution, everyone.
