Way back in 2019 we first looked at the possibility of trekking.EBC. After alot of research and reading of reviews ,we decided to get in touch with Above the Himalayas Trekking because of the excellent reviews this company got online..From our first contact with Puru we had a feeling this was the company to book with. After a number of emails which were always answered promptly we decided to book with Puru and we paid our deposit for our EBC trek which was to start in early April 2020However as we know the whole world went into lock down in March 2020.Puru assured us that our deposit was secure and we could rebook later on when restrictions were lifted. Little did anyone know back then how long Covid 19 would drag on.Fast forward today .After a couple of false starts in 2022 .We finally got everyone on board again for March 2023.bar one.Having booked flights from Europe and Australia and our deposit holding good we tweaked the last few details with Puru via What's App..We have to say that from this point it was all over to Puru and everything went without a hitch.Everyone was met by taxi at the Airport and dropped to the hotel.We had two nights in Kathmandu before the trek and Puru got us direct flights from Kathmandu to Lukla which is alot handier than a 4 hour drive to Ramechappe.We had previously met our guide Sitram at the airport 2 days previously and we then met our porter Buddha in Lukla. Both Sitram and Buddha were fantastic .They did everything possible to make the whole trek enjoyable and as easy as possible..We have to say that the teahouses picked were great and the food was good but a little repetitive after awhile. Great if you like Dal BhatTo reach basecamp was a great thrill and we were even greeted with 2 days of snow on the way back down which added to the already fantastic views .We had mentioned to Sitram in conversation that our hotel room in Kathmandu was a little noisy due to a night club nearby Sitram passed this onto to Puru without our knowledge and Puru said he would change hotel for us.As we liked the hotel and location we decided to stay on our return but we were moved to a quieter area of the hotel. This just goes to show the efforts Puru and his staff go to behind the scene so that you can have the experience of a lifetime.If you are thinking about trekking EBC or any other trip we can't recommend Puru and Above the Himalayas Trekking enough.All you have to do if get yourself to Kathmandu Airport and Puru and his team will look after you from there.Thank you Puru Sitram and Buddha for a truly wonderful and memorable trek.
