Extremely disappointed with the service from Absolute Reg Plates.
I ordered and paid over £1,500 for a registration plate as a gift for my dad over 4 weeks ago. From the very start, communication was poor — I heard nothing after placing the order and had to chase them myself after four weeks just to get an update.
Because I had already paid and had no reason to expect such a long ordeal, I went ahead and had the physical registration plates made, fully expecting the paperwork to arrive within a matter of days.
When I finally did get a response, I was told there was an issue because the plate was supposedly from a private seller. Despite this, the exact same plate I had already paid for was still listed as available on their website, which immediately raised concerns.
I was later contacted by phone and told that something had “gone wrong at the seller’s end” — apparently the seller had lost the paperwork, sold the car, and no longer had the rights to the registration. Frankly, this explanation sounds highly questionable.
Either way, they’ve had over £1,500 of my money for weeks and I’ve been completely messed about with no clear resolution.
Overall, the experience has been stressful, frustrating, and very unprofessional. I would not recommend unless you’re prepared for long delays and having to constantly chase for answers.
