They contacted me to say that they had an offer on where they would waive the usual £150 consultation fee. So my husband and I travelled to Birmingham for the assessment to see if I would be suitable (I have a very strong prescription). The optometrist who offered the tests wasn’t able to get a few of them to work. She also recommended I have some sort of structural surgery too at an additional £3000 cost. The welcome email said to expect to be there for an hour but with the delays in her being able to use the tests we were there closer to two hours. Met with the surgeon who recommended I try a -3 contact lens as that’s likely what they could achieve. They offered to get them to me for £30 but I said “thank you but I will buy them myself as I could get them cheaper”. I asked several times about the cost of the surgery and the female optometrist said around £7,000 with the structural recommendation but the surgeon said not to bother with that and said around £4,000. The female optometrist said she could call me the next day with the figure. No one called. So the next week I emailed in asking for a price. No reply. Emailed twice more, no reply. I posted a google review about my wasted trip and their lack of response. Received a really horrible email back from them stating I had refused to try the -3 lenses and so they didn’t see the point in quoting me for surgery. Ironically, very short sighted of them, had that even been what happened. We drove two hours to the appointment and it was an absolute waste of time. The customer service is non existent. No effort to repair their failings or even offer a quote. Really disappointing. Would not recommend.
