Adelaide has clearly poured her heart, soul and lived experience into her wonderful "Saying Goodbye the the Curated Version of Myself" workbook. It's a truly special thing that has encouraged me to reflect deeply on my own experiences being neurodivergent and how I have masked my true personality, skills and thoughts. It hasn't been an easy journey at times with ADHD, but Adelaide's workbook bridges the practical with thought. The content is educational and sometimes even a tad confronting, but in a way that is compassionate, validating and freeing. And can we just acknowledge the sensational colours and artwork throughout! I'm an adult male and honestly, the design is a breath of fresh air for me from the monotony of heavy text. This workbook brings a hefty and much-appreciated dose of FUN. The aesthetic combines perfectly with the energy of the messaging and exercises.
My first contact with Adelaide was at an ADHD conference where she gave a wonderful talk on personal brand and being oneself. There was a mantra that Adelaide gifted the audience -- “Consistent does not mean Constant” -- which has just stuck with me ever since. I think her message applies to her workbook too, because you don't need to use it 'Constantly' to get value from it. I work through no more than a page or two at a time, coming back to it when I need to. In doing so the workbook has 'Consistently' opened up for me profound moments of clarity and reassurance that I am enough. It's now a staple in my handpicked repertoire of "life anchors" and tools that I know I can depend on when I need them or if I feel myself reapplying my mask.
To Adelaide - thank you so much for meticulously and delicately crafting this special workbook. Simply, it's wonderful.
