I purchased my PC from Aftershock PC on 22 Dec 2025. All components were sourced from Aftershock and the system was assembled by them.
After receiving the PC on 27 Dec 2025, I was unable to get any display signal on my monitor using both DisplayPort and HDMI. My monitor and cables were brand new, so they were not the issue. I sent the PC back for servicing on 29 Dec 2025, and a few days later I was informed that there was a problem with the GPU and it had to be replaced. This was extremely disappointing for a brand-new system and raises concerns about whether the components were properly checked and tested before shipping to customers.
Since January until now (February), I have also been experiencing another recurring issue: the screen randomly turns black for a few seconds and then comes back on by itself. This happens every few days at completely random times and is not tied to any specific application or workload. I have checked all connections and am confident it is not caused by loose cables, as the display cuts out and returns without any physical movement.
In addition, there is a constant static noise whenever I plug my earpiece into the front panel audio port. The noise starts immediately upon connection and persists regardless of volume level. I have tried different earpieces and restarted the PC, but the issue remains. When I contacted support, I was told that front panel audio ports are inherently more prone to interference and are “not recommended” for sensitive audio devices due to internal cabling picking up electrical noise.
This explanation is not very reassuring. The front panel clearly has a headphone icon and is intended for everyday headphone or headset use. If customers are expected to avoid using it due to interference, then it suggests poor design or build quality, especially for a brand-new PC.
I don’t know much about PCs, which is exactly why I chose to buy a ready-built system from Aftershock. The basic service expected is peace of mind — knowing the product has been properly tested and will function reliably out of the box. Unfortunately, my experience so far has been frustrating: receiving a brand-new system with a faulty GPU immediately, followed by ongoing display blackouts and persistent static noise issues. For a professionally assembled prebuilt PC, I expected much better quality control and reliability.
