We stayed at one in San Diego last month with some friends. The stay went great, but I remember a weird request from the owner being, "Do not strip the beds." I used to always do that as a courtesy. Take all the sheets off and pile the towels for the cleaner. Over a week after we left, the host said the bed in our room was stained, and we had to replace the entire bed and sheets. Even though she said the sheets didn't have any stains on them. Supposedly, according to her, my boyfriend and I had washed the sheets without anyone knowing and tried to hide the stain. We 100% did not do anything like that or make those stains. I am disgusted that we unknowingly slept in a bed with those disgusting stains. But since we didn't have any videos of the actual bed, under all the sheets, Airbnb sided with her, and we had to pay $600. One of the problems was that our friend booked it, so we weren't able to communicate with anyone while we were the ones being accused and called liars. So, unless you are willing to spend the first hour of your vacation taking videos and photos of every square inch of the Airbnb, be ready for them to side with the Host over some bullshit.
