My flight from Capetown to Atlanta was cancelled by the airline AFTER I had not only booked the ticket but also paid a change fee. Airtreks.com is REFUSING to let me know how they got a refund amount of $434.90 US on a $1882.65 Ticket! I expect AT LEAST HALF AS they cancelled Half of my flight OR A PROPER EXPLANATION ON HOW THEY GOT TO THAT FIGURE. They took a change fee payment on top of that $1882.64, $2000 worth of payments they want to offer me less than a quarter of what I paid. They did not even offer me half my ticket as an airline credit. They are using strong-arm tactics and low level customer service agents force into doing something I know is NOT RIGHT! Airtreks.com representatives are being extremely slow to respond and never directly answer my questions. I have had exchanges with: Mark Cala-Or, Laura Wadsworth, Florencia Massaccesi Barbara Segria and Maria Belen Balbi. We have a 25 email exchange and I still do not know how they come up with LESS THAN HALF of what I paid. They have been useless and absolutely no help whatsoever. They keep responding that they did all they can and where do I want my refund, but refuse to tell me what that means. I don't accept that refund and they won't tell me how they came up with the amount. They are being incredibly dishonest in communicating answers to my problems. I sent them DOT regulations and they still ignore them. Even foreogn airlines are suppose to abide by our regulations if they flight from the US. What is my recourse from this dysfunctional and dishonest travel agency Airtreks? The terms on my actual ticket do not match the link they tried to send me in an email concerning cancellation. Please help. On my ticket email THEN: " Cancellations If an airline cancels your flight, they can do the following things: • put you on another flight (same day or 1-2 days before or after the cancelled flight) • refund the ticket If you discover your flight was cancelled when you reach the airport (which won't happen because you checked the airline website at least 2-3 days before your flight, right?), tell the airline staff to put you on the next available flight (even if it's on a different carrier). If you discover your flight was cancelled more than 24 hours before the actual flight date, we'll help you work with the airline to offer the best solution (i.e. new flight or refund)."Recently they responded to my better business complaint and lied that they have given me all the information about my refund they have yet to even sent me an invoice let alone the documentation that shows how they came up with the amount they are completely dishonest and liars.
