I have had an amazing experience with Aizome since finding the website a little while ago. A quick background - I was living a mostly “normal” life until I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in 2020. I subsequently had 2 stem cell transplants, then developed severe lung disease as a result of these transplants, and over time after I became oxygen-dependent and other treatments failed, my only option to survive was to have a bilateral lung transplant. A bilateral lung transplant is a notoriously difficult surgery with a very long recovery period, and I had to relocate 6 hours away from home for it. I had been through so much already, my body was weak, but I decided to fight on. Leading up to the lung transplant I decided to try to offload as many toxicities as possible, including paying attention to what I put in and on my body, such as types of fabrics, dyes, other chemicals, and foods. Luckily, I found Aizome before my lung transplant and immediately ordered bedsheets and shirts. I even brought the sheets with me to the hospital. I would have a lot of healing to do, and as a clinical pharmacist I particularly was interested in the medicinal plants that are used in the dyes, as well as Aizome’s pledge to use no synthetic chemicals, no finishing agents, no toxic waste. It was also important for me to find products that are GOTS-certified organic cotton. I’ve been using the organic sheet set in virgin cotton, as well as the regenerative cotton t-shirt in natural indigo, and I know they’ve been aiding in the healing of my surgical scars and irritations. They are the absolute softest sheets and shirts I have EVER worn. They’ve been great and I literally want to buy everything on the website! Thank you for doing what you are doing, Aizome!
