Went in store to purchase a pair of boots at the Aldo location inside Carrefour Laval, since I had been given a coupon to use. At first they could not even find the boots to try on even after telling me they had them and the associate brought me the wrong boot to try on twice (the same wrong boot btw). So I asked to try in a different colour so I could order them online. Then I asked if the associate could order them for me for pick up, but due to technical difficulties she could not. Okay fine whatever. So I place an order for pick up for the Satori brown boots for pick up at the exact same location I had just left so I don’t know why she couldn’t place the order. Anyways I pick up the boots and get home and open the box to realize that the left boot has been worn since the Heel/bottom is scuffed and the boot itself was not stuffed with paper the way the right one was. It is also scuffed at the front top which is visible when comparing the two boots side by side. I take a picture for proof and wait until Monday to call customer support after trying a million different ways to contact them via email (impossible btw). Even after sending them proof of the used left boot in comparison to the right one AND the representative agreeing with me there was basically nothing they could do. I was offered three options: 1. I could attempt to go back to the store but I was not guaranteed they would even take them back!, 2. I could send them back and place a new order with no guarantee it would not happen again.. 3. I could get a partial refund of 25% and nothing more even though one boot has a visible light patch and is used so basically half the product is used/damaged. I chose the third option because 1 and 2 offered me no guarantees even after asking if customer support could contact the store to guarantee an exchange. If I had bought them in store and inspected the purchase then it would be fine since I can obviously understand people try them on BUT I ordered these online I expect them to be brand new!! Don’t even bother trying to find an email to reach them for North America (Canada) there isn’t one. Their chat bot is useless as well and although the representative was kind, the options he gave me offered no guarantees over their merchandise even after I tried offering other solutions like an exchange (he said the store might not take them back??? Why not??). Like I was willing to drive back to the store to just simply swap the left boot out. So be advised unless you see the product in person you can basically get anything via online order. It’s obvious I just got the demo left boot they keep out or something. And I’m certain it wasn’t the stores demo because these had shipped from elsewhere so they should have been brand new!Edit: 3 days later and the meagre 25% refund they gave me got charged as a payment on my card as confirmed with the bank!! This is exactly why I had to ask the guy to give me PROOF of the return by email!! This is beyond ridiculous that I now have to attempt to get into contact with them AGAIN because they charged me for my refund. Never shopping at Aldo or their other brands again. Honestly…
