Chester Disgraceful Manager

Celebrating my best friends birthday in Chester, lovely weekend until when we were ready to leave we paid our bill and then went to the toilet before going onto our next reservation at another bar and as we walked down the stair and to the door to leave. I believe it was a manager as he was dressed in a shirt and trousers whilst waiting staff wore a uniform; ran across the restaurant accusing me and my friend of not paying our bill which was very loud in front of the whole restaurant and bar which you could appreciate is very embarrassing and belittling to do such a thing so openly without making sure. I said to the member staff we had paid to which he replied “no you haven’t paid at all you were sat on table 25 and that has not been paid” so he was then calling me a liar not being polite and saying something of the lines of I’m sorry can you point out the member of staff who gave you your bill - he point blank embarrassed me further. I then said again yes we have paid and I had to look around the bar to spot the waitress who we asked for the bill and then the girl who actually took the payment, she came over and I asked her to confirm that I had infact paid my bill and obviously she confirmed that we had definitely paid. This man who accused us of not paying said wait there and then took the girl over to the till to check whatever they were checking and then came over and said “oh yeah you have paid it was the table next to you that hasn’t” at no point did he apologise for embarrassing me and my friend in front of the whole restaurant for failing to pay our bill.I was absolutely disgusted with our experience and will never return
