They must delete their negative reviews here and on Google somehow, because I noticed there are far fewer than the last time I looked. This place takes advantage of vulnerable people who want to feel beautiful by telling them they won a contest for a free photoshoot. Spoiler alert: EVERYBODY WINS THE CONTEST, and if you want to buy copies of your photos the packages start at £600 for some photos on a thumb drive?? Ridiculous. After you “win” the contest, they love bomb you with loads of post and telephone calls which make you feel really special, unbeknownst to you that they do this to everyone. When you come in, they give you alcohol (conveniently lowering your inhibitions). Honestly, the decor is extremely tacky. The makeup artist and photographer were both lovely, and I could tell the photographer felt uncomfortable when they FINALLY tell you the prices after the photoshoot is over. I was so shocked that I thought it surely must be a mistake. A week later, I came back for my viewing. I felt SO pressured to buy photos after all the faff around it, not to mention that you’re alone tipsy in a dark room with just one other person. I told her that I really don’t have much money and she still pressured me to buy. She tried to get me on a payment plan and only let me know that there was an unlisted cheaper package when I was practically crying. It was clear that all she cared about was making money for the company. I regret eventually giving in. In fact, instead of leaving empowered I actually felt like shit. Months later, and it still makes me upset to think about. I could’ve really used that money. I immediately reached out and sent them a message with my grievances. They never got back to me. I also met someone who was a photographer here who said she barely got paid minimum wage, which is RIDICULOUS considering the prices. So much for women’s empowerment when the women laborers get scraps while the man at the top gets rich…absolutely disgraceful. And Aimee - if you’re planning to write some deflective response, I don’t want to hear it. You should be ashamed to defend these practices and dismiss these valid, repeated concerns.
