Businessess STOP using GLS - poor communication, inaccurate tracking, delayed delivery

GLS has really poor customer service, they don't seem to be solutions driven! The GLS team took days to reply to my emails requesting the whereabouts of my parcel. I'm on holidays and leave Ireland in the next few days, and I had to chase them for an answer to find out where my parcel was and when it would be delivered. It took 11 days to get my parcel sent from the seller in Wexford to Galway: we are on the same landmass! I would have received a parcel quicker using a different provider delivering to the Netherlands. The GLS online tracking system is inaccurate and the email responses from customer service were vague and they couldn't give me an exact date when my items would be delivered.Considering this is a company meant to be built with logistics at their core and the ability to track parcels, this was NOT my experience.I then called a GLS phone representative and was assured that my parcel would arrive on Friday. I received an email notification stating this also. Come 7pm, still no sign of my parcel. Saturday, I receive the same notification that my parcel will arrive. I hear a knock on the front door. I rush downstairs and find the delivery driver leaving my parcel (clothing gift for a friend wrapped in paper and then plastic wrapper) up against the wet wall and covering the soft gift with a piece of slate from the garden!The plastic outer wrapper of the parcel was slashed across the front meaning the inner paper was exposed and the clothing inside the parcel. How can a parcel get this damaged in transit? And how can the delivery man not realise the parcel can fit THROUGH THE LETTER BOX! It's a small item that would fit! Instead he left it in the pouring rain. If I hadn't come out at that exact time my gift would be all wet! From my experience, and many others who have left reviews, GLS is poorly organised company and the steps weren't taken to look after our items. Businessess who use them to deliver their goods should know better. Their service is not about quality. It's money grabbing, and the customer basically has to do the job of chasing the staff to do their job and locate their parcel. It's absolutely appalling! A company that isn't logistically minded or customer focused.
