The postman came while I was out at work but three other people were home. Nobody heard him apart from my brother who heard a light tap but it was so faint that he thought nothing of it. If the postman tried the back door afterwards, he would have been able to deliver it because my mum was there. Instead he just left and I had to rearrange for him to come two days later.On the day of the second visit, I put a polite notice on the door to knock louder or try the back door but I took it down when I saw the van park up. When the same postman came, he made a rather snarky comment about me taking down the notice, as if I had done something bad by putting it up in the first place. I explained to him that nobody heard him knock the first time round and instead of apologising, he said "Then three people didn't hear him knock", basically putting the blame on us. I found the whole thing very rude. I work for Royal Mail and I would never talk to a customer like that. In fact, a Royal Mail postman delivered a parcel earlier that morning and he was lovely. A big contrast to the unpleasant experience I had with DHL.
