The reason why there is zero faith in this industry

I purchased a Land Rover Discovery earlier this year. Absolutely loved the car, however it unfortunately seized its engine. Seller has been very supportive, however before the car was purchased, as part of the deal we decided to split the cost of the premium AA warranty plus package, for peace of mind. About 2 months later the engine seized due to 'insufficient oil'. The car was serviced with oil change and filters etc in Nov 22. I had faith this was purely a mechanical failure and would, as stated in the policy, be sorted via a claim. It even states that this will be covered where there is evidence that there has been no negligence with the vehicle, or its up-keep/maintenance.The land rover specialists dealing with this claim, I might also reiterate that, specialists, informed me after stripping the engine that the diagnosis was actually that the turbo had failed, causing excessive leak of oil due to the bearings failing and subsequent and inevitable engine seizure. This was as a result of a mechanical failure, not negligence. After waiting over 2 months to get a decision, and having an AA assessor attend the specialist garage to assess the engine, it was documented that the crank shaft would not move an inch, and even tried it himself. This engine is fully seized. The individual tried to suggest that the engine should be stripped down further, to try and ensure a definitive cause for engine seizure. It was communicated to this individual that he would essentially be asking for an autopsy on an engine and would be wasting his, the garage and the customers time, by doing so.After waiting over 2 weeks for a decision, and even having the underwriter contact the garage for an update (this never happens), I was told not only was my claim declined, but that there was 'on the balance of probabilities' a fault which was present before the warranty was purchased which has caused the turbo to fail and ultimately the engine to seize. They claim in one sentence that the turbo seems relatively new in comparison to the other components of the engine surrounding this part. I have the service history. This is the only turbo that has been present in the vehicle, it has not been replaced or repaired, which the AA seem to be suggesting it has. The sentence a few paragraphs down then states that the turbo seems to have excessive wear and tear and has 'clearly been failing over a period of hundreds, if not thousands of miles'. Make up your minds guys, it would help in your cause to at least appear legitimate and not trying to swerve the cost of a repair. Having spoken with the specialists yet again, they have reiterated the fact that it is inconceivable to think that this has been caused by anything other than the turbo failing, causing bearing failure, causing the engine to seize. Indisputable. To try and suggest that the turbo has been replaced and this has then caused engine seizure in order to avoid helping a customer out to pay for repairs is beyond insulting, both to the garage and to myself. I am not an idiot. It must be said here and now; you, the AA, are a perfect shining example of why there is absolutely no faith in this industry whatsoever, and why people are sick to death of your behaviour. We only have to look at the state of these reviews to realise what an utter con this supposed warranty is. You can point to your 36% 5 star reviews if you like, but that is not fooling anyone. I would like to think of a better word than disgrace, but that seems rather fitting given the circumstances. £860 handed over for this warranty and sweet FA in return. For anyone reading this, I would highly recommend not giving AA the time of day, let alone any money to help you. Ruthless business with no intention of helping its customers. Please do not get shafted by the AA like I, and seemingly many others have. Stay safe from them.
