DO NOT TAKE OUT AA PARTS & GARAGE COVER.They are quick to take your money but like most other insurance companies look for any reason not to pay out.I made a claim following a breakdown. AA patrol attended to an oil leak but could not confirm which parts were affected.I immediately took the vehicle to a garage and had the fault diagnosed and a report created. The garage found the affected parts but suggested they couldn't see the vehicle for almost 2 weeks due to the Christmas back log and nationwide delays in vehicle repairs.I contacted other garages which confirmed the same.I booked in for repairs and was advised to take the vehicle away due to no space onsite at the garage. I was advised the vehicle is safe to be driven in an emergency and its not possible for any other parts other than the ones identified initially to become defective.I used the vehicle for a single emergency return trip before it was dropped off for repairs to commence. The garage then contacted me to advise The AA are not accepting the claim due to an influx in mileage. Upon contact with The AA it was made apparant the issue did not cause my vehicle to suddenly breakdown and was able to be driven therefore, cannot be accepted for any Parts & Garage repair claims.I logged a formal complaint as I felt this was incorrect information. The complaints team then advised the claim was declined as it comes under an exclusion within the terms & conditions; 'costs not covered for further damage due to continued use'.This is absolutely ridiculous as my initial time stamped report with reference to the mileage states exactly which components were affected before the suggested 'continued use'.There was no further damage at all for this exclusion to apply.I've been provided two completely different reasons for why my claim was rejected. This is inconsistent and ultimately shocking customer service. To add to the poor level of service by The Automobile Association, I queried why I never received a breakdown report after a Patrol attended. I was advised a breakdown report was generated but sent to somebody else. Given the seriousness of breaching GDPR; I am shocked the complaints team did not bother to properly investigate or provide any updates on this.I'm currently in the process of escalating my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman as The AA have genuinely failed on this occasion.
