Avoid Area Store, especially don’t be fooled by upscale quality and piece of mind of buying good products. At area store Portugal, Amoreiras in Lisbon my partner was missold Dream mattress as a very soft mattress, which is not the case. My partner finds it hard and gets pain in pressure points while I who love hard mattresses get radiating pain across the body, likely joints pain according to my online research (which sounds scary and ironic if I were to get chronic joints inflammation for paying premium price for a mattress from an upscale store). I wake up at night in pain and pain radiates to parts of the body that don’t directly touch the mattress from forehead to edge of the foot and all my internals. The customer service is unresponsive and we are stuck with with a brand new 500 EUR queen size mattress. It is unacceptable for the shop assistant to mislead the completely unknowing customer seeking soft mattress into believing the bonnell mattress known for its rigidity and only 20cm high (vs 27cm spring pocket mattress) is able to produce soft feel especially for a slightly-built person with no more than 70kg weight. It’s simply technically not a suitable mattress. The fact that it evokes such a pain across my body makes me wonder how badly it is designed to produce such an effect. Avoid. It’s the biggest fail by area store but not the first our lawyer is engaged with. We were delivered a dining table with a dent, discovered only after assembly men left. Thanks to lawyer’s involvement, and after silence and refusal to replace by area store, eventually the table was replaced. Also, we were sold dirty cushions from the store room at the Area store amoreiras in Lisbon. Fortunately, it was discovered at the till so we got refund immediately.Update nearly 4 months on:SCAM! AVOID AT ALL COST!!! After Sales Service Uses Dirty Tricks Unscrupulously Breaking EU Statutory Warranty Contract Terms!It's been over 2 months and 20+ emails with sav@ and all company's filth comes to light. Really disgusting company.I claimed redress for refund of Dream Mattress that I'm not able to sleep on due to unbearable pain it evokes, having barely survived on it for a few nights before having to switch to half the price Ikea mattress.The company resorts to dirty tricks to reject valid warranty claims at all cost. It starts off rejection of the claim with legal terms of conformity that is included in their published warranty conditions. However, the moment it is demonstrated to them with EU legal directives that the mattress actually lack conformity, they make up another reason for rejection. Next was no defect of origin, and once refuted with EU directive, it was replaced with unpacking/usage rejection that was further refuted.Second layer of dirty tricks includes no right to have the claim heard or argued with the professional after sales team because the first response team at sav@, who facilitate correspondence with the after sales team don't forward my messages and keep repasting previous responses. I think, out of 20+ emails, only the first response I received was from the after sales team and one before the recent one, otherwise everything in between and the latest one have been from the first response team.Well, I am kind of grateful that they break the EU customer protection law so overtly in plain sight because it makes my lawyer's job much easier. My lawyer is going to have a feast with sweeping off this scum from the upscale furniture market for good:D.
