APIA is a company that sells very well and seems to help host families a lot, but on the au pair side, they are negligent. How is it possible that you have a person *working* in your house, taking care of 3 and 4 children simultaneously for 4.35 dollars an hour? This is not a cultural exchange program, it is slavery. It is not worthy for a person to work so much for so little. They justify it by saying that we receive food and a place to live: APIA does not ensure that the conditions inside the host's homes are decent. Au Pairs ended up with physical and mental health issues.I do not recommend APIA or the au pair program in general.

Au Pair in America is the nation’s first federally approved program for both U.S. families seeking au pairs to provide live-in child care, and international young people wanting to take part in a year long cultural exchange.
