I couldn’t gain access to my vehicle due to a flat battery. I had inadvertently left the lights on the previous day.Assured in the knowledge that I was covered by the excellent AutoAid breakdown services, I reported my breakdown via their website as instructed.Shortly afterwards I received a call from Call Assist, who apparently handle the breakdowns.I was informed that due to the age of my vehicle, 09 regd, the vehicle was not covered due to its age.I asked if the Policy was actually running, and was told it was.I asked how they could take my money and say I wasn’t covered.I was advised that I would have to take that up with AutoAid.Call Assist offered to send someone out for a fee of £120, which I declined.I have been with AutoAid for some eight years, and, foolishly, renewed the Policy when offered it each year, without checking the small print.Surely AutoAid have systems in place that highlights such ineligible vehicles. After this experience, AutoAid have gone from hero to zero. The word Cowboys comes to mind.
