A works van backed into the front of our parked car. Whilst the driver was completely reasonable and pleasant, leaving all his details, his employer – the local council, were not so pleasant. They simply fobbed us off and told us to go through our insurance. This would have resulted in our premiums going up and having to fork out for the excess too. (There was even a suggestion by our own insurance company that our car would be written off if we went through them, when it was mostly cosmetic damage!) The back and forth went on for weeks. This was despite the accident being caught on camera. Having done some research online, we nervously decided to give Auto Claims Assist a go. (We were nervous because we hadn’t realised using a claims company was even an option). It turned out to be the best decision! Auto Claims Assist looked at all the information we had and agreed to take the case on. At this point they took over all the contact with the local council and simply kept us informed of the arrangements for the collection and repair of our car. They also arranged for a hire car to be delivered, which came the day before our car was taken away, so we were not left without a vehicle at any point. Our stress vanished overnight! Our car was collected and repaired very quickly. The repair itself was amazing. It was the repair we hoped for but didn’t really expect. You couldn’t see any trace of the damage. The repair company - XL Motors in Coventry, are manufacturer approved repairers and should have a mention for the excellent job they did too. The hire car was then collected the day after our car was returned. It was all so seamless and stress-free from start to finish, once Auto Claims Assist were involved.
