A very dear family friend succumbed peacefully at age 93 after a long and debilitating illness, which she’d weathered bravely. When we last visited almost 3 months earlier, she’d not ventured out of her home in almost a year. She’d been stuporous when we arrived, but when i played for her a YouTube video of Amazing Grace performed by a tenor with glorious voice, then accompanied by solo, then massed pipes, she’d brightened dramatically and rallied unbelievably and arranged for one of her faithful live-In caretakers and she to take US to dinner. When she passed, i just knew she needed a superb piper to salute her and bring some comfort to her amazing family. I found Harry on his very informative website and knew immediately we couldn’t go wrong with HIM on the pipes. His pre-performance communications were informative and concise, his Highlands attire almost regal, and the music itself lyrically EVERYTHING we could have hoped for.
