Bought several tickets over a 3 day period to travel across Germany on vacation. Started getting emails of "cancellations" and "travel schedule no longer possible" a couple weeks before the trip. Nothing is specified in the email. Sent an email through the website, no one has EVER replied. After three attempts on the phone and a wait of 45 minutes on an average, I manage to speak to a representative. Basically, I could take any other train those days, but I had to come up with a different itinerary searching on their website. I had to switch trains multiple times with a 4-5 minute interval between each train, so I had to run a couple times from a track to the other because the trains were often a few minutes late. It was nightmarish. 2 stars instead of 1 because I eventually managed to make all the connections and get to destination, but that was really my merit. And I thought German efficiency was a thing...
