My recent experience with ballroomshoes.com has been very disappointing. Their website advised to order a UK size that is 2 less than the US size to convert appropriately. I followed this advice and ordered a UK size 10 pair of men's ballroom shoes. Order arrived fine and the shoes looked great. When I tried them on, they were too tight. I spent no more than a couple of minutes in those shoes in my house before deciding that I needed the next size up. I started an exchange request with them. During this process, I discovered an image on one of the shoe pages that showed UK size being one size smaller than US size. I pointed out this discrepancy to them and magically the website was updated to advise buyers to pick 1 size smaller from US size. In one of the emails an employee denied that there was any discrepancy and that the website advised to buy one size smaller. Luckily anyone can access the internet archived pages (web.archive.org) that save off the past versions of pages and I was able to retrieve a past version of the page that was originally presented to me. I started the exchange process and they were prompt to respond and approve the return. (I advise any future buyers to review their very strict return policy, which I reviewed before placing this order). I returned the shoes in the same mint condition that I received, but got an email notifying me that the shoes were worn and a picture showing the same. The soles of the shoes in the picture looked very bad and these shoes were clearly worn and someone went to town on them. They were ready to send the worn shoes to me if I paid for the return mailing costs. I have repeatedly requested them to investigate any possible way my return was mixed up with a bad pair of shoes on their end. They are confident that there is no mistake on their end. I called their number and was able to speak to the owner. She sent me some follow up pictures of the shoe box and those pictures show a shoebox that had some damage and a dusty shoe bag. This is not the set I sent them back. At this stage, the owner is confident there was no mistake on their end. This is a situation where it is my word against theirs and I will let future buyers make their own judgment. I believe the business either does not have strong operations to process returns/exchanges or is dishonest or both. Their initial denial of the shoe size discrepancy that I pointed out to them leads me to not trust this business.
