had a frustrating experience with lost property handling at the Perth branch of Bannatyne Health Club & Spa.
I accidentally left some salon hair products in the female changing room shortly before closing and contacted the club first thing the next morning. When I spoke to staff initially, I was told that items such as shampoo and toiletries are normally binned.
Because of this explanation, I believed my products had likely been discarded overnight.
However, when the matter was later reviewed by the club manager, I was informed that this is not actually the policy and that items (other than certain hygiene products like underwear or towels) should normally be logged in the lost property book and held on site for around 30 days.
This conflicting information from staff was frustrating and left me unclear about what actually happened to the items.
While I understand the club does not accept liability for belongings left in the changing rooms, clearer procedures and more consistent communication from staff would help avoid confusion for members in similar situations.
I raised this with the club and Bannatyne customer services first in the hope it could be resolved directly.
