I've bought an Iveco S-Way on LNG and the acquisition process was quick, with the documents arriving through mail before the vehicle and it was all made in around 15 days. The first interaction with the truck was scary because both LNG tanks we're almost totally empty, and for this particular trucks that could be considered mishandling because it can damage the motor. I reported the situation as soon as I Saw lhe LNG levels and the comercial representative from bastrucks guaranteed me that the truck was with 200€ of LNG and sent me the respective invoices from the technicians supporting what he was saying, but the tanks we're really almost empty, and there were no misreading, as when I filled the LNG tanks afterwards the readings on the levels correspond to what was put on. 30km after, the truck made an awful noise and some emergency noises started and I immediately stopped the truck and called for assistance that I had to fully paid. The truck stayed at the mechanic for some days, and then the diagnosis was that the automatic gearbox oil filter was not well mounted and the oil leaked from there (gearbox oil filter is bellow the truck so Gravity made its work). Immediately I've reported to the bastruck commercial but since he is not a mechanic he simply reported the situation and at that point I was handling the costs of a situation that some technician/s created for being careless or just ignorant (sorry for the word, but I don't know any better word to describe it).
The oil from the gearbox situation was a serious threat to the gearbox and at the time I've reported that the low oil levels could have created real problems, but the commercial representative on bastruck could not do nothing, only receive reports and send them.
The truck made 8000km and then... Gearbox noises. I called for assistance, the truck stayed around 1 and a half month waiting for diagnosis due to a shortage of good staff here in Portugal, but I've waited because I knew the truck is on good hands but... Gearbox have to be substituted, as well as the intarder. Ruined shafts and gears are problems that developed from the low oil levels on the gearbox. The costs to repair it are pratically the truck value and I'm stuck with this situation that was totally created by the guys that supposely were preparing the truck for use.
I don't know what to do, I reported everything to bastruck since the truck was in my hands, and all the problems are related with mishandling and bad mechanics practice, and I pay the price. It is ruining my company start and I do not consider bastrucks to be a good company to acquire a truck and start your business.
