I love this Spanish school! For a monthly fee, you can take as many classes as you want. The instructors are generally very good to excellent. The school is on eastern time and it can be a bit restrictive for people living on the west coast because some of the classes will be very, very early, and there are no evening classes for people on Pacific time. I would definitely give 5 stars if they had evening classes on Pacific time.
Fabulous language program. I’ve just completed Level 1 and loved that it moves at a good pace compared to some classes where you spend ages on the very basic. It’s also very flexible allowing you to change between a wide range of days and times. Nelson Navarette was my main instructor and he gets 5 out of 5 for endless enthusiasm and making learning fun.
I am so glad I found Berges Institute! I began taking classes about 6-7 months ago. I started in the very beginning, even though I had taken a few Spanish classes when I was younger. It was the best decision! The program is built so that you can start where ever you feel comfortable. You are able to move through the course material and progress at your own pace. The classes are offered at all different times and days (even on weekends)! You are also able to retake a class to ensure you have a good foundation before moving on. With the team of instructors working for Berges Institute, you are in great hands! They are patient, encouraging and really knowledgeable in teaching adult learners. I have primarily taken classes with Monica Negron, Silas Bermudez, and Rolando Gonzalez, but all of their instructors are fantastic. I've found that Monica, Silas, and Rolando are great at adding extra practice and providing some of the cultural extras based on the lesson of the day. They are amazing! And you can't beat the price for what you get!!I highly recommend Berges Institute if you are looking for an online (via Zoom) Spanish school to get you learning and speaking Spanish...at your own pace...with a fantastic team of instructors!! Give them a try...you won't be disappointed.
I have taken many Spanish lessons of multiple levels from Rolando at Berges Institute. Rolando is an excellent Spanish teacher. His classes have a good balance of lecture and practice. He is very knowledgeable; he explains language points very clearly with ample examples and points out the nuances in word choice and contextual usage so that students can learn the authentic way of communication. He corrects students’ mistakes without making them feel discouraged. In his lessons, he uses vocabulary and sentence structures based on the course progress, so students are adequately challenged but not overwhelmed. Rolando is patient, calm, and funny. His lessons have given me a good foundation in Spanish; for a beginner-level student, this is priceless. Rolando is an outstanding teacher!
I just finished Level 1 Spanish at Berges (Zoom group classes) with Marian. I really enjoyed it and feel that I learned a lot in a short amount of time! I appreciated the flexibility of the classes, the kindness and patience of the instructor, and the clarity of the written materials. I’m looking forward to Level 2!
Monica is a kind, personable and organized teacher. She is thorough, knowledgeable and helpful in understanding what was being taught. She also spends time building up conversation skills. I have gained a lot from participating in her classes.
Yo he tenido una experienca estupenda con Berges. Yo empece las clases en nivel 2 hace 6 meses y ahora estoy en nivel 5 y en un clase de convercacion basico. Normalmente yo tomo las clases con Nelson pero yo he tomado clases con otras maestros tambien. Todos estan muy bien. Mi español esta mejorando rapidemente y las clases estan divertidos. Recomiendo a todas personas que quieres aprender Español. I have had a great experience with Berges. I started classes at level 2 six months ago and now I am at level 5 and in a basic conversation class. Normally I take classes with Nelson but I have taken classes with other teachers as well. They are all very good. My Spanish is improving quickly and the classes are fun. I recommend to all people who want to learn Spanish.
After several attempts at trying to learn spanish, I run across this program online. I LOVE IT. I completed the 10-week beginner course. My primary instructor is Gloria Alveal. She is wonderful. Super attentive, very patient and explains things easily. She makes the classes fun. The ability to retake classes with other instructors is a wonderful option. I had the pleasure of taking two courses with other instructors and found them to be very good teachers. I learned so much. I'm looking forward to the next level.
