Our GE dryer stopped getting hot on Mon 1/26. Filed a claim, had a "repair technician" come out to look at it the next day. He was only in the house for 4 minutes, didn't take the back of the machine off, nothing, just told my husband that he knows what he issue is, that it's a particular wire that is known to burn up and he's seen it multiple times. He comes back on Wed 2/4, is at our house for only 7 minutes to do the repair. After claiming the repair was done he left, 7 minutes in and out and he signed my name to the completed work order WHEN I WASN'T EVEN IN THE HOUSE! I was at work. My husband does a test load of laundry around 5:15pm when I got home and low and behold, the dryer is STILL not blowing hot air. So my husband decides to do some investigating and pulls the back of the dryer off to see what this "repair technician" has done. Come to find out all he did was take the existing BURNT wire, cut a small portion off, leaving the remaining burnt portion on and splicing it into the connector that has some burn on it and then wrap electrical tape around it! This idiot could have burned my house down!! Because when my husband discovered that this is what this guy did it was now burnt up again and the electrical tape was now melted as well! So we're still left, almost 2 weeks later, with a dryer that does not work. This kind of inept work by a clearly unskilled and unqualified "repair technician" is beyond dangerous!
