We stayed at the Best Western in Dover and had a terrible experience. We booked a Superior Double Room, which was so small that the space between the end of the bed and party wall was so narrow we had to walk sideways and mind the large scree television above our heads. Of the two dressing gowns one was solid and not replaced. No bottle water was supplied, although this came with the room. The air conditioning is controlled by the management and we had hot air blasting into the room as well as the sun shining through the windows. At night it started illuminating the room with a flashing light. The hand basin pop up plug would not seal, so we we wasted water when washing our hands, and when shaving I had to run hot water continuously to wet shave. I complained In the morning of our first stay. Assured maters would be put right. Nothing happened o I sent an email to the Hotel Manager. More assurances that all would be put right. The only thing that was put right was the air conditioning. The afternoon tea was limited to one pot of tea and no refill and crusts on the sandwiches. The evening meal did not match the standards of Marco Pierre White who has given his name to the restaurant and menu. After such a dismal stay I wrote to the CEO of Western and I quote, "As a membership organisation, all of our member hotels are independently owned and managed. We do not work operationally within the hotels." Be warned, don't expect standards to be the same within the Best Western Group.
