We had only recently taken delivery of our Approved Used 2021 MINI Cooper S, so we were understandably very trepidatious about doing anything that might risk bricking the head unit or, worse, voiding the warranty. They were also exceptionally responsive, answering every question quickly and clearly. The entire process turned out to be about as simple and straightforward as it could possibly be.Both my partner and I are deeply embedded in the Apple ecosystem — iPhones, iPads, Macs, the lot — so we were genuinely disappointed to discover that the MINI we completely fell for didn’t appear to have Apple CarPlay enabled. When I queried this with MINI UK, they were adamant that our car wasn’t equipped with the correct hardware at the time of manufacture.That turned out to be completely incorrect.When I raised this discrepancy with Bimmer Remote, they checked our VIN and immediately reassured me that all the required hardware was already present and that CarPlay activation was absolutely possible. Their confidence was backed by clear knowledge and experience, which instantly put us at ease.What impressed me even more was their integrity. I initially assumed I might need one of their more expensive options, but they told me — quite honestly — that it wasn’t necessary and advised me to purchase a cheaper option instead. That alone speaks volumes.Many thanks to the Bimmer Remote team for allaying our fears and for delivering a much-wanted upgrade that has genuinely transformed our driving experience.
