I bought the NBTEVO upgrade (from Q to X) from Bimmer Remote and it went super smoothly. I got straightforward instructions for preparation, including download links and how to prepare the car. Then, during the appointment time, they connected remotely to the computer tethered to the car and upgraded it all in 35 min. Initially, the setup left the car in a non-OEM state, but when I asked for it to be fully OEM so that I could configure the car using BimmerRemote, they immediately gave me the instructions to revert, which worked perfectly. Now the car is both OEM and CarPlay fullscreen. 💯BTW, if you are wondering whether CarPlay fullscreen makes a big enough difference to justify the cost, wonder no more. It feels like a new car, totally worth it.
