I would caution anyone thinking of getting a birchbox. I bought a subscription last year and one for my niece as an xmas present. No issue with the boxes however it is the underhand way they operate that is the problem. A full year subscription cost was taken out of my account a few days ago - I did not want or ask for the subscription to be renewed. It is not possible to get through to customer services and in addition the instructions on how to cancel a subscription does not relate to any possible mode of action in your account settings online! So you are stuck. It is a very large amount of money to just take from an account and I feel strongly that this kind of practise should be made illegal.
