BIRCH LENDING IS A CORRUPT AND DISHONEST COMPANY THAT SHOULD BE SHUTDOWN BY THE CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU FOR LACK OF TRANSPARENCY AND IMPROPER IDENTIFICATION PROCESS REQUIRING NO PHOTO ID OR PICTURES OF YOUR FACE TO MATCH TO A LEGAL IDENTIFICATION ….
This company is an absolute scam and utterly reckless. I had my carry pouch stolen with my phone and all my other important documents and someone applied to over 12 different loan companies under my name with my information and all the loan attempts were obviously denied when the thief came upon the identification process and they were asked for an upload of my ID card and for pictures of my face from multiple angles like they are obligated to do. I have emails from the companies that I’ve been approved and to contact them to provide my ID with pictures of my face to finalize the loans. I had to spend over a week contacting them about my fraud situation. Birch lending decided to process $1,410 to my account because someone had my ID# from my Mass Identification card and SSN from my social security card to upload. This company is deleterious and one of the most insecure services I’ve ever come across. By the time I received my cell phone through FIND MY PHONE, I logged into my account and was -$122. I filed for fraud and I’m in the process of canceling my routing/account #’s as soon as my replacement Massachusetts ID comes in the mail and I can go to my bank for identification verification. When I asked the woman from BIRCH LENDING who in their right mind would borrow $1,410 at 530% interest and pay back almost $10,000 in 12 months with biweekly payments of around $350, she said, I don’t know. I have never in my life even heard of being able to charge someone over 500%-750% interest for a year loan that wouldn’t even pay for a month of rent. The ultimate goal of getting a loan is to get yourself out of debt in a quicker, more manageable manner, by getting a lower interest rate. The highest APR on one of my credit cards is 27% so borrowing $1,410 at approximately 530% I would have to be lacking all mental faculties. I went online and their one star reviews all express the same experience that I’m currently dealing with, except my situation is fraud. Birch Lending’s responses to every single one of my questions were evasive and non informative. She told me since the money was put into my account, that I’m responsible. I told her I would be canceling my debit account and changing my routing/account numbers. This will affect my credit temporarily but, it doesn’t matter because I don’t ever need loans or mortgages with my cash and cryptocurrency investments I have. If anyone out there is planning on getting a loan, avoid this company at all costs and don’t fall for their five star reviews because I can’t think of any reason why a person would be appreciative paying 500%-750% on a 12 month loan and then give a raving 5 star review. Some of the reviews people borrowed $200-$400 and had to pay back more than $4000. This company should be ashamed for taking advantage of helpless people who are desperately struggling financially and burying them with more debt than they already have. I went on their site after reading the reviews and everyone was correct, they make you check boxes off and don’t tell you the exorbitant and horrendous 500-700% rates you’re obligated to pay back before approval. One unfortunate woman needed $200 for a birthday gift and had to pay back over a couple thousand dollars for a $200 gift. You’re better off not paying your bills rather than digging yourself into a deeper hole. I already went to AAA for a replacement Identification card and will be going to my bank immediately when it arrives in the mail to cancel my account and open a new account. I’ve already filed a police report with the Wenham Massachusetts Police Department and made three copies of the report and mailed one to each credit bureau. I’ve also been in contact with THE CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU to report BIRCH LENDING and I am currently waiting for them to respond back to me. This might drop my credit score for a while but, I don’t ever require loans or any form of financial assistance, so to me, it’s just a 3 digit number that someone looks at on a computer screen that serves no purpose in my existence.
