Without doubt the worst fridge I have ever purchased in my life from Blomberg (aka some kind of subsiduary of BEKO via their kitchen appliances). That's even rivalling an awful Hotpoint which rusted to bits within 6 months. Main issue are the noise levels. In-between intermittent loud humming & hissing, our Blombug fridge constantly crackles and pops. sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispie's with a megaphone strapped to it. It gets worse in summer. According to the user manual (and sales staff) it is perfectly normal for Myself or my Wife to be asking "what the hell was that noise?" every 20 minutes in our own home. It is absolutely relentless though. In the evenings, while trying to watch TV, we have to close our kitchen door to be able to hear audio or get a decent nights rest. The abomination can still be heard from our bedroom. If someone decides to burgle us, we'll be none the wiser as we're always mentally tuning out the menace half the time. Also, can't help getting furious at the demonic thing 'beebing' at us every time I leave the door open 1 second longer than allocated limit. I don't need my fridge nagging me, I'm married for that! There is no way of turning this feature off, or adjusting parameters. It's especially irritating when you are trying to grab multiple items or remove shelves for routine cleaning. Surely I shouldn't feel intimidated by my fridge because I'm not fast enough?! Bizarrely enough, the freezer section doesn't make any sound whatsoever when its left open! No, Blombug didn't have enough development funds for the more important compartment, totally mute. Finally that extremely gimmicky 'fresh light tech'. This is as pointless as OLED mood backlighting on TVs. It is pure marketing nonsense. How do I know? Am I a scientist? A leading nutritionist perhaps? Nope ...but it's kind of obvious to anyone with half a brain this feature is absurd gubbins when the colour changes immediately to a different gradient every time the door is opened and shut. Coupled with the fact fancy Christmas lights are about effective as homeopathy in keeping veg fresher, just another fallacy to bump up the price. What's red lighting supposed to mimic exactly? A day on Mars? Blue? A morning at seaworld? Pluuuuhease. Genuinely, I turned down a Bosch in favour of this brand. Massive mistake, never again. Awful fridge freezer combos. I pray for the day the piece of **** breaks down outside of warranty, which judging from the sound of the condenser, might not be too long away.
