Review Time
There's always going to be a little wariness making a purchase like this - it's not inexpensive, after all. So you do all the research you can, you ask the people who sell it, gain a little more info about it, look at some reviews online but, at the end of the day, you have to take a leap of faith. And I'm not exaggerating when I tell you I was more than a little concerned.Well, let me put your mind at ease. The second you open the box, and you set your eyes on just the bracketry and suction cup alone, you suddenly realise why this thing is not for the feint hearted, is top dollar quality, and everything now feels right. I have never seen a windscreen suction pad which is electric with it's own built in vacuum pump - wow, just wow!So what about the unit itself? Well, I live in a small town where the local police station closed years ago. I wasn't really expecting to find much action and didn't. Not a whisper, on my first few miles. So I drove all the way to the next town's police station and, as I approached, yes about 700 metres I suppose, the device burst into life and found three radio signals straight away. I drove past and they soon dissipated into the ether. Next was the ambulance station a few miles away. Same thing. Burst into life.I'm sold on this. This is proper clever kit. I can't wait to spot my first unmarked vehicle now. What a great game. More's the point, how properly useful is this info. Top Top Top. Thank you Target Blu Eye UK(I have the 'GO' portable version btw)
As a dedicated user of the Target Blu Eye 2 (mirror version) since May 2024, I was eager to see if the new Target Blu Eye GO could match the performance of a fixed-installation unit. After putting it to the test, I can confirm it delivers the same life-saving technology in a much more flexible package.Performance & Portability: The transition to a portable touchscreen interface is seamless. While the standalone unit trades a small amount of detection range for its "Plug & Go" convenience, this is a non-issue in practice. I paired mine with the external antenna accessory, which fits neatly on the windscreen. This simple addition completely restores the range, providing alerts for marked and unmarked emergency vehicles up to 1,000 meters away - exactly like my fixed Blu Eye 2.Key Highlights:Intuitive Interface: The touchscreen is highly responsive and the display automatically rotates, allowing for flexible mounting near the dashboard or the rearview mirror.Smart Features: I particularly appreciate the City Mode, which reduces sensitivity in dense areas to prevent alert fatigue, and the Dark Mode/Dim-on-Red functions that keep the cabin discreet at night.Reliability: It detects up to three emergency services simultaneously, giving me a clear picture of what’s happening on the Airwave network before I can even see a blue light. The Verdict I truly feel "naked" driving without this technology now. It doesn't just prevent surprises; it provides the situational awareness and confidence I need for my driving style. Whether you drive a lease car, a classic, or switch between vehicles frequently, the Blu Eye GO is an indispensable safety tool. It is the best investment I’ve made for my peace of mind on the road.
