I was offered the 'best rate' for a hotel. Upon check-in, the hotel informed me it was a government employee rate. I stay in hotels about 25-30 nights each year and know how to select the right rates and discounts. I did not 'accidentally' choose a government employee rate. This rate isn't even available on the hotel's website, so how could I have mistakenly selected it? The hotel inadvertently listed it on third-party sites, and now no one is taking responsibility. It has since been corrected. The hotel refused to honor the rate that was sold to me, and I ended up paying double.
