Very poor handling by Booking.com.
My confirmed booking was cancelled by the property. The alternatives offered were not comparable—one was closer to a hostel, and the other was a tiny studio, far below the standard of the one-bedroom unit I originally booked in a high-end tower. After declining these, I was pushed toward a 7–12 day refund instead of real support.
This creates a loophole where properties can cancel, offer weak alternatives, and avoid responsibility—while customers are left stranded.
