Absolutely scammy business practices. I signed up for my first book for $5, I even opted out of the ugly free hat. I signed up 9/18. I haven’t even received my first book when I’m suddenly charged $19 on 9/25! I thought I thoroughly read the terms, I was expecting to pick a book or skip by 10/6. I was told I could do that or cancel anytime, but then they turn around and say I “agreed to be charged one full month at least once”, so even though I offered to RETURN THE UNOPENED BOX, and told them I will not use the credit I just paid $20 for, they REFUSED A REFUND. So enjoy my $20 tip for nothing, wish I could have used it to donate a book to a child or something instead.This company’s whole profit plan hinges on consumers not thoroughly reading the fine print, or simply forgetting to cancel. Will also be reporting this to the BBB. Shame on you.
