A complete and total scam. This is my first book and they seemed like a good company with good prices to work with. The original price they quoted me was $500 upfront for their services. This was supposed to include editing, formatting, review, and cover design. However, once I sent them the manuscript, they said that it would require "advanced" editing and for that it would be an additional $500.Now at $1,000, this was still much more affordable then the other options out there. So no problem, I paid the additional $500. However, once I started receiving the edits, it was clear there was not a qualified editor doing this. What I got back had the following issues- Grammar and spelling mistakes throughout- Missing whole chapters- 4 different format changes throughout the bookI overlooked this and chalked it up to the fact I was getting a low price and made the corrections myself. After sending them the final updated manuscript with edits I had to make myself, I received back a formatted digital copy that had multiple chapter numbers mixed up, and was missing two important chapters. This required about ten emails back and forth just to correct. It was about this time BPL contacted me and said they had a book company that wanted to make a large order of my book. This felt very odd since at that time, they didn't even have a completed version of my book to show to anyone, nor did I authorize them to share my book with anyone other than themselves. And the deal couldn't have sounded any more like an "I'm an African Prince and I want to give you my gold" type of scam. They said I would need to pay thousands up front to get these books printed for the company but they would immediately get paid back by the company and I would make tens of thousands. They offered to send me the offers, but never actually sent them. They just kept asking me to pay. Finally, after moving past what was an obvious scam, I asked to order 3 paperbacks and 3 hardbacks to use for a marketing campaign for the launch of my book. This is where they then tried to tell me I needed to order at least 100 books to order any. I showed them where in their contract they had said the exact opposite. After some back and forth, they said they would send those books, however since then, they have not answered my phone calls nor my emails. This company is VERY OBVIOUSLY a scam and has delivered nothing beyond an AI generated cover, editing that could've been done better by my niece, and a lot of headaches for $1,000.I will be initiating a lawsuit against them in the next week as well as sharing this review on every single review site I can find. I also have a huge social media following (millions) and will be ensuring that every person possible knows who they are, their other company names, their locations, and their contact information. Please do not get tricked into anything by Book Publishing Lab like I did.
