Supplements are fine. The bizarre marketing… not so much

The supplements (Lions Mane, Rhodiola, Ashwaganda)were fine, well packaged, reasonably priced and no issues with delivery. However, I find the politicised and opinionated “marketing” (weirdest marketing I’ve ever seen) nothing short of bizarre. The publicising and shaming of negative reviews in marketing emails, the overly politicised content, the contradictory information (ie “we don’t use trust pilot” “here’s a link to trust pilot”) the public disparaging of other peoples opinions as being “fake” reviews. The owner is incredibly and unashamedly political in a way that comes across a bit unhinged but when a customer questions or challenges those opinions, Chris shuts them down as “fake news”… it’s very Trumpian! I am a genuine one time customer (with a receipt to prove I’m not a government/big pharma bot 😉) but after reading through the tin foil hat wrapped tripe that gets served alongside the supplements you order, I’ll not be using this company again. Here’s an excerpt from the email I received today that prompted my review:- *****“ Hey health comrades This is the kind of stuff we get for looking to build a British business in the UK these days. Here’s a review (more a mouth board) from someone on Trust pilot who we don't use by the way. I clicked on a link to this company via…YouTube"I clicked on a link to this company via a YouTube ad, lured by the prospect of pure vitamin products (I worry about the supplements I buy from eBay being unreliable), but it sounds like it was written by the Reform Party.Lots of screaming about being British and the horrors of Big Pharma no more guarantees a quality product than one bought from a market stall. I expect to see scientific professionalism on a site claiming to be selling pure products.I can't personally recommend these products but I can warn anyone buying them to be aware that big shouty promises do not a good supplement make. Also, I'll just add that looking at these reviews, where the owner berates dissatisfied customers instead of trying to placate them, makes you wonder what kind of business model they are operating from.I am old enough to remember when the majority of British companies were British and none I remember would ever have behaved like this - and that was long before the days of customer service. Definitely giving this one a miss."Thank god they never bought. And here’s our reply:"Definitely giving this one a miss." Great, one less customer service headache for us.You’ve never bought from us, yet you’ve written a political rant disguised as a review. We sell supplements, not safe spaces. Business is a two-way street, if you don’t like our straight-talking style, don’t buy from us.We’d rather keep our products for customers who value honesty over corporate waffle and lies. We don’t apologise for telling the truth. If you want beige corporate fluff, look elsewhere. We’re here for people who care about they put their bodies, not whether we say “please” in the right tone. We’ve been in the game for 10 years, shipped over 2 million orders, and earned 35,000+ verified reviews, including thousands from customers saying our supplements have changed their lives. That’s what matters. You never bought from us, but have plenty to say about our tone? That’s not a review, that’s just noise. We don’t sell to everyone, and we don’t want to. All the best in finding a real supplement company, you’ll need it :)Chris Boyle - Founder of British SupplementsP.S. We’ll look forward to the 17 edited versions of this review you’ll post over the next week, as it’s hard for your type to just live and let live”.********I agree with the reviewer! The response is totally cuckoo. Wanting a straight forward transaction and a decent product doesn’t mean you’re submitting to “corporate fluff”.There’s definitely a niche client base. Basically, if you’re a person of a certain age, read the daily mail, plan to vote reform in the next election, are drawn to flat earth and conspiracy theories, consider yourself an expert in many fields based on an extensive you tube education and enjoy the ranting emails you’ll receive from the company, this is the go to supplement company for you. If you like to just buy a product without an unnecessary side dish of political and social bilsh, give it a swerve. *** in response to the swiftest company response I’ve ever witnessed 🤣You’ve not hurt my feelings you strange, angry man. You’re just a dolt with a dreadful attitude, a staggering amount of arrogance and raging paranoia. Sat here in my quaint little village, enjoying our annual carnival, actively participating in my community 🇬🇧whilst weirdo Chris insinuates anyone who disagrees with him is a commie and “anti british”. What a clown.
