I'm pleased to say the number I wanted was eventually delivered and I'm using it successfully now, so overall I'm satisfied. This was a better experience than the one I had with a competitor that failed to deliver after weeks of delay (refund given). The number was delivered on a GiffGaff SIM with some credit on it and that has worked really well - a good price and good coverage.I've taken off one star because (as others have said) the whole process took several weeks (roughly a month) and I don't understand why transferring a number should take that long. If you were starting up a company and wanted to get publicity sorted this would be a major problem.I've taken off another star because of poor communication - silence at first, then promising delivery dates that were repeatedly exceeded. That made me very nervous because of my previous bad experiences and because I didn't trust them, which meant I couldn't get new business cards printed.I had some trouble finding a cheap way to redirect my old number to voicemail or my phone. I ended up using a VoIP account with Andrews & Arnold, and (for a different number) an ASDA PAYG SIM, both very cheap options. It turns out British Numbers could have helped but I didn't know that. There are thousands of numbers available, which is a good thing but most of them are not very memorable at all so a better filtering system would have been useful. Too many had no obvious pattern at all, or long strings of repeated digits that are hard to read and pronounce. I ended up just going through numbers one by one until I found one I liked.
