My wife and I found this company under 'Your local locksmith company' but the receipt was to BS Security maintenance Limited.Our front door lock jammed and we were unable to get in our house. It was a double glazed from door.We called this company as a second choice. A fitter arrived in a car a couple of hours after the call (on a Friday evening). He fitted an 'Ultion' lock replacing the Yale which had been originally supplied with the door. He said that Yale locks were not particularly good. He said that he was having difficulty and would come with a different part in the morning. He gave us a bill for £320.00 which made us gulp. We felt that we had to accept and paid though on hindsight, it was unusual, for every other tradesman (plumber, electrician etc) would have sent a bill by e-mail. The morning came and the fitter returned, this time with another lock, an 'Astra' lock, this he said was better than the Ultion. He also said that it was more expensive than the Ultion but would not charge the extra. He also showed us the lock on his tablet, the website priced it at £280.00. He fitted the lock and left. We then noticed that he had fitted the lock with the fixing screws to the exterior. Feeling most uneasy (and foolish), we called our first choice of locksmith who came and immediately saw that the lock was incorrectly fitted. He quickly rectified the problem. He advised that the supplied lock, had he fitted it would have cost about £80.00 and that is was a reasonable lock to use. He declined any payment. If only he had answered his phone earlier last night.
