I bought 2 airline tickets to South Africa and several months before departure requested 1 name change on 1 of the tickets. The agent charged me £310. When I queried why this was so much higher than the airlines published price of 250usd the agent in writing stated multiple times that he had checked with the airline and that this was what they were charging. However I have since had written and verbal confirmation from the airline that the charge should have been 250usd. Which is £184 and not £310 as charged. I sent this information to management at Budget Travel and after a month of being fobbed off they sent me a "screenshot of payment" which wasn't even made out to the airline and it stated a £60 admin fee which was not disclosed at any point.They also then said they paid the airline £250 and not 250usd which the airline has stated is the actual charge. So I have been substantially overcharged and this company has been dishonest and acted in a very disappointing manner once I started querying this transaction. I have proof in writing of all correspondence and shared this with the management. They are clearly fobbing me off and have no intention of dealing with my complaint so please avoid them . I will also be escalating my complaint to all their regulatory authorities and the airline as well.
