A long day but well worth the trip
You see these “competitions” on Facebook to win a photoshoot, but in this life nothing is free and you only get what you pay for! So Instead of just opting for the basic package and one “free image” I bit the bullet and agreed a custom package in advance and after today I would certainly say that with this professional studio it would be my personal recommendation.
Having done many of these shoots already, I have found it far better to do your homework, start by searching the studio’s gallery and maybe the web to find images that you like then create a mood board to liaise with the very helpful Nicola who is happy to discuss everything either via message, e-mail or in person on the phone.
I arrived well early for my appointment this morning but was warmly welcomed by the staff and offered a drink before meeting the very talented Codie who had the daunting task of turning my old canvas into a masterpiece a challenge she accepted willing and I gave her total freedom to create her own vision which she completed flawlessly.
After nearly 2 hours in makeup and then my hair sorted I was lead upstairs by the lovely Mel shown into one of the smaller studios to use as my changing room - selecting a newly purchased outfit only bought the day before I changed into my first outfit and rang the bell to signal I was ready!! Instantly Mel was on hand to guide me to the first session.
Now this is where the pre planning comes into play not only had Nicola listened to my requests but she had fully briefed the photographer on just what images I wanted her to capture - helped also by my provision of albums from previous shoots so that Mel was aware of what had been captured before, which then inspired her to improve on them but still following my brief.
Previous studios have worked on the principle that multiple takes was the best way forward but No! Mel had a totally different approach none of this happy snappy and I’m sure one will turn out ok. Each photo was visioned, discussed, then framed and posed to perfection before the shutter was even pressed the result being quality over quantity.
I can honestly say that I was pleased with each and every image taken today all unique and captured within five different studios individually theamed to provide a varied look and mood to every photo. A truly wonderful experience…. Even if some rooms were a little warm! but Codie was quickly on hand to touch up her masterpiece back to perfection.
All too soon it was all over and I was provided with a nice cold drink whilst the images were expertly edited ready for my own personal viewing experience, the results absolutely
fantastic and couldn’t just select a few so I took the lot !!
So in summary you certainly get a day out to treasure with BYB and I for one would love to return again in the very near future- As I can’t rate this all female team highly enough.
